The MIR trial recently conducted in Britain showed that adding mirtazapine to and SSRI or SNRI conferred no benefit and was associated with an increased rate of adverse effects. People continue to advocate this approach – this evidence helps settle the question as to whether the combination should remain amongst approaches used for treatment resistant depression.
