Lumbar puncture is sometimes indicated for patients taking both aspirin and clopidogrel. However, clinicians may have concerns about potential complications such as epidural haematomas, and literature is limited. Researchers performed a medical record review of outpatient, inpatient, and emergency lumbar punctures performed at Mayo Clinic over six years. and conclude that the treatment may not necessarily substantially increase complication rates associated with the procedure.
