The Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia has released the findings of a major multi-centre investigation: REDUCING
OPIOID-RELATED HARM – A hospital pharmacy landscape paper. The paper states: ‘We seek to collaborate with other healthcare practitioners and organisations to prevent unnecessary harm caused by opioids initiated in the hospital setting, by beginning an important conversation about services in hospitals, innovation and collaboration,’ and presents 33 key recommendations based on the research that was conducted across 135 hospitals in May 2018.
